BMW Z4 M40i Gets Manual Gearbox With New Limited Edition Priced At Rs 97.90 Lakh

The Pure Impulse edition is a new special edition version of the BMW Z4 M40i that was recently released in India. The Z4 M40i, which retails for Rs 97.90 lakh ex-showroom, now features a manual transmission for the first time, which is the major news. Another choice is the 8-speed automatic, which is similarly less expensive. Let’s take a closer look at the Pure Impulse version, which also includes some internal and external cosmetic changes.

The new Pure Impulse edition is imported in full to India, much like the standard Z4 M40i. The version with an automatic gearbox costs Rs 4 lakh more than the base model. The well-known 3.0-liter, straight-6 turbo-petrol engine that powers the back wheels of the Z4 M40i Pure Impulse version generates 340 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. The 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox has been retained, but the most noticeable feature is the 6-speed manual gearbox, which is not offered with the standard Z4 M40i. BMW claims that the automatic transmission can reach 100 kph in 4.5 seconds, while the manual gearbox can do it in 4.6 seconds.

The Z4 M40i Pure Impulse’s largest cosmetic change is a new staggered wheel arrangement that includes 20-inch rear and 19-inch front M alloy wheels with double spokes. Additionally, the Pure Impulse edition’s doors and wing mirror covers are gloss-black, and the brake calipers are red. In addition to the colours that are already available for the standard Z4 M40i, BMW is introducing two additional color options: Frozen Deep Green and Sanremo Green.

The special edition roadster’s interior features contrasting stitching exclusive to the manual version and Vernasca Cognac leather upholstery in dual-tone black and beige. The standard Z4 M40i, on the other hand, has black leather upholstery. The list of equipment has not changed. Dual-zone auto air conditioning, ambient lighting, electrically adjustable front seats with memory for the driver’s seat, a central touchscreen, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, and a wireless phone charger have all been retained.

With the Z4 M40i Pure Impulse version, BMW is also providing a plethora of optional accessories. These consist of a head-up display, a Harman Kardon sound system, adaptive LED headlights, a driver and passenger lumbar support, M seat belts, and an exterior and interior mirror package. Although the BMW Z4 is a direct competitor of the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet, it truly stands alone as a manual two-seat roadster. BMW claims that the Pure Impulse models will be limited-edition.
