Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP Launched At Rs 19.05 lakh

Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP upgrades to a fully-adjustable suspension setup, carbon fibre parts, lighter alloys and an exclusive paint scheme. The motorcycle features a steel trellis frame with variable-section tubes that is connected to the rear subframe, another steel trellis, inspired by that of the first Hypermotard. A wide steering angle of 70° affords great handling, while the position of the wheelbase maximises stability at high speeds.

Ducati has launched the Ducati Hypermotard 90 SP in India at a whopping price tag of Rs 19.05 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the third model in the Hypermotard range after the RVE and the recently launched single-cylinder Mono 698 to land in India. Offered as a fully-imported CBU, the Hypermotard 950 SP is Rs 3 lakh more expensive than the RVE.

What’s new in Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP?

For the premium price, it gets additional equipment and features, and upgraded mechanical specifications. The most notable upgrade is the Ohlins suspension at both the front and rear, replacing the Marzocchi/Sachs setup. This fully adjustable suspension offers increased wheel travel of 185mm and 175mm at front and rear, respectively.

The SP also features lighter Marchesini forged wheels, resulting in a claimed 2kg weight reduction. However, the bike’s dry weight remains 191 kg, and the 14.5-liter fuel tank will push the total weight over 200kg.The seat height has been increased by 20mm to 890mm due to the extra suspension travel, making it almost inaccessible for every average height rider. The SP rolls on sticky Pirelli Supercorsa SP tyres wrapped around 17-inch wheels.

Ducati retains the same 937cc L-twin engine for the Hypermotard 950 SP dishing out 113 bhp and 96 Nm of peak torque. Although unchanged, this engine boasts the most aggressive tune and distinctive exhaust note in the Hypermotard range. It is paired with  a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.

Visually, the bike is identical to the RVE, except for unique SP graphics and Marchesini wheel designs. As with every Ducati, the 950 SP is loaded to the gills with electronic rider aids such as cornering ABS, slide by brake that allows you to slide into corners, wheelie control, multiple riding modes namely— Sport, Touring, and Urban– and a quick shifter that comes as a standard fitment.
