Honda Civic Type R Ultimate Revealed As Limited Edition

As a final farewell to the hot hatchback in the European market, Honda unveiled the Civic Type R Ultimate Edition. Due to its inability to meet the more stringent 2026-bound Euro 7 pollution standards, the current FL5 Civic Type R is being phased out in the UK and Europe. To commemorate the model’s 28-year manufacturing history, Honda is releasing a 40-unit limited edition. For more information on the Civic Type R Ultimate Edition’s features and an update on the performance hatch’s alleged Indian debut, continue reading.

Only the Championship White colour option is available for the Civic Type R Ultimate Edition, which adds a few more visual modifications to the hatchback, including distinctive red decals on the bonnet and doors, “Ultimate Edition” badging, a black roof finish, and a carbon fibre rear wing.

The attractive appearance of the FL5 Civic Type R remains unchanged in other areas. It has smoked-effect angled headlamps up front, a black-finished mesh-patterned grille and air dam, and a red-and-white Honda logo that is exclusive to Type R. A linked LED tail-lamp system with a diffuser, “Type R” logo, and dynamic triple-exhaust layout takes center stage at the back. Blacked-out wing mirrors, side skirts, 19-inch wheels, and a bonnet duct are further sporty accents surrounding the body.

On the inside, the Civic Type R Ultimate Edition adds carbon fibre to the center console and door sills. A Type R logo projector in the front doors, red floor mats with metal “Type R” badges, and extra lighting for the door liners, cupholder, center console, footwell, and underseat area are further features that Honda has included. Additionally, each buyer of a Civic Type R Ultimate Edition will receive a unique gift package that includes a carbon key ring, vehicle cover, and a numbered emblem (from one to 40).

With features like a Type R-specific steering wheel, a 9.2-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a silver gear knob with red engravings, an 8-speaker sound system, sports seats with red suede-effect upholstery, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, and more, the cabin hasn’t been altered.

Honda is preparing to introduce the Civic Type R as a rival to the hot hatch in India, after the recent introduction of the Volkswagen Golf GTI. It can confirm that Honda has no intentions to introduce the Civic Type R in India, despite the fact that the idea may seem intriguing. The Civic Type R Ultimate Edition’s presence really serves as a sign that the performance hatchback will be phased out of manufacturing worldwide by 2026. The City, Amaze, and Elevate are currently part of Honda’s India lineup. The Japanese automaker is also thinking about introducing the ZR-V hybrid SUV in India, as we revealed earlier this year.
