After undergoing crash testing, the Mahindra BE 6 received an outstanding 5-star rating for both adult and child occupant protection from the Bharat NCAP. The bigger XEV 9e received the same grade when BNCAP crash-tested it as well. Interestingly, both of these SUVs have the highest Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) ratings that BNCAP has given out to far.
After the XEV 9e, which scored 32/32 points, the BE 6 has the second-highest Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) score, with 31.97 out of 32 points. According to the study, the driver’s and passenger’s head, neck, and chest were well protected; nevertheless, the BE 6 lost points for providing “adequate” protection for the driver’s knee. It received a score of 16.00 out of 16.00 in the side moveable deformable barrier test, indicating good protection all around.

It received a “OK” rating in the side pole impact test. Additionally, the BE 6 met the criteria of the ESC test. The durability of the body shell and its capacity to tolerate more loads at faster speeds, however, were not discussed.The BE 6 achieved 45 out of 49 points in Child Occupant Protection, which is the same as the highest result to yet and is shared by the XEV 9e, Thar Roxx, Skoda Kylaq, and Tata Punch EV. It received full marks in the CRS installation test (12/12) and dynamic test (24/24) and received a score of 9 out of 13 in the vehicle evaluation exam. Rearward-facing child seats, fastened with ISOFIX anchorages and a support leg, were used for testing the 18-month-old and 3-year-old child dummies in the front passenger seat.
Six airbags, a rear camera, parking sensors, a tire pressure monitor, and a driver drowsiness detection system are all standard on the BE 6. Additionally, it has ISOFIX mounts for the back seats, a manual airbag cutoff switch, and seatbelt reminders for every seat. A 360-degree camera, an extra airbag, and the Level 2 ADAS suite are added to higher versions, increasing the total to seven.

Although the 79kWh battery pack was used to test the top-spec Pack Three model, Bharat NCAP claims that the rating also holds true for the lesser 59kWh variants. The whole BE 6 variant lineup is also disclosed in this article; the 59kWh battery will be included with Packs One, Two, and Three, while the bigger 79kWh battery will only be available with Packs.
