The basic Turbo version of the Lotus Emira sports vehicle, which retails for Rs 3.22 crore (ex-showroom), was introduced in India. The Emira, a lightweight, mid-engine sports vehicle that epitomises what this legendary British company is most known for, is Lotus’ sole ICE-powered model in India.
In India, it was introduced alongside the new Emeya, an electric hyper-GT that complements Lotus’ Eletre electric SU lineup. The flagship Lotus Centre at the World Trade Centre in New Delhi has also been opened by Exclusive Motors, the official partner of Lotus Cars in India.
In India, Lotus offers the Emira with two different engine choices. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged AMG engine powers the first, while a 3.5-liter V6 supercharged engine from Toyota powers the second. The latter generates 406 horsepower and 420 Nm of peak torque, while the former has two tuning states: 365 horsepower/430 Nm (Turbo) and 406 horsepower/480 Nm (Turbo SE).

The engines in both Emira models are positioned transversely and supply power to the back axle. While the AMG four-pot can only be paired with an 8-speed DCT transmission, the Toyota-sourced engine may be paired with either a 6-speed manual or an automated gearbox. The Emira weights 1,405 kg when it is at its lightest. The sports vehicle, in its fastest version (Turbo SE), has a peak speed of 290 kph and a stated 0-100 kph sprint time of 4 seconds. A launch control feature is also unique to the Turbo SE.
The Lotus Emira boasts stunning sports car dimensions and unmistakably resembles a tiny Evija. Because of the headlights’ shape and the lovely bonnet scoops, the front end is particularly where the Evija’s design is heavily influenced. Other distinguishing features include the large intakes on the sides, short overhangs, and large haunches.
An LED brake light, located far above the twin exhaust and rear vents, connects the flat C-shaped LED light clusters at the back. With regard to the external logos and wheel finishes, Lotus is providing customisation possibilities. While Zinc Grey is the usual colour for the Turbo SE, Vivid Red is the regular colour for the Emira Turbo and V6.The 20-inch Satin Grey wheels are exclusive to the Turbo SE variant.
The centrepiece of the interior is a 10.25-inch touchscreen entertainment system that comes pre-installed with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A 12.3-inch digital driver’s information display is also included. The majority of other contemporary convenience features are also included, including cruise control, ADAS features, a multifunction steering wheel, a 10-channel KEF premium sound system, and optional 12-way adjustable sports seats. Along with the fit and finish, the materials’ perceived quality is also very impressive.
