It’s a known secret that Royal Enfield is working on the Classic 650 as numerous spy shots of the camouflaged model have appeared online. Recently, the retro motorcycle was spotted in the UK without any disguise. The fresh images provide significant insights into the soon-to-be-released Classic 650. It is set to become the fifth 650 cc model in Royal Enfield’s stable, joining the ranks of the Interceptor, Continental GT, Super Meteor, and Shotgun.
The Classic 650 was recently spotted in spy shots and will maintain the design elements of the Classic 350, featuring a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, circular headlight, and dual-tone colour schemes, including a chrome variant, with options for a single or double saddle. Similar to the Classic 350, it is anticipated to offer both spoked wire and alloy wheels.
The Classic 650 is equipped with robust USD front forks, possibly from Showa, and a 5-step preload-adjustable rear suspension akin to the Shotgun 650. It includes disc brakes at both ends, dual-channel ABS, and comprehensive LED lighting for the headlight, pilot lamps, tail lights, and indicators. The motorcycle is also expected to come loaded with features such as a Tripper navigation pod, adjustable clutch and brake levers, and a Type-C charging port.
The Classic 650 will be the first 650 in the Royal Enfield portfolio and it is powered by the tried-and-tested 648 cc parallel twin-cylinder engine with an output of 47 bhp and 52 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. The 650 retro motorcycle is expected to make its debut at the EICMA 2024 motorcycle show in Milan which will take place in the first week of November. The motorcycle is also ready to be unveiled at Motoverse 2024 in Goa in the latter part of November.
