The misleading post circulating on social media claims that employees will get three days off in a week instead of two. The viral post also falsely claimed that from July 1, 2024, employees are required to work extended hours, ranging from 10 to 12 hours per day, for four days a week. The misleading post also said that the PM Narendra Modi-led central government is planning to implement Labor Law regulations immediately.
The Press Information Bureau established a Fact Check Unit (FCU) in November 2019 with the aim of tackling the issue of fake news to the central government, its various ministries, departments, and other central government organizations. Notably, the fact checking unit verifies claims about government policies, announcements, and regulations and provides accurate information to the public.
