Responding to a post by Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa, Comedian Kunal Kamra calls out the company on the wages of its delivery partners. Blinkit, a leading quick-commerce platform in India released a series of data on January 1st that provides insights into India’s New Year’s Eve shopping behaviour.
Taking to social media, Albinder Dhindsa celebrated Blinkit’s milestones, including a surge in orders per minute, orders per hour and tips for delivery partners on New Year’s Eve.

Following this, Kunal Kamra pointedly asked, “Can you also share data on the average wages paid to your ‘Delivery Partners’ in 2024?”

Kunal Kamra’s criticism was not limited to Blinkit alone. He also discussed the topics of the exploitation of gig workers by other quick commerce platforms in India. He argued that the compensation fails to meet workers’ needs due to the job’s demands.

He accused platform owners of exploiting gig workers, calling them “landlords without owning any land.” Kamra also expressed concern about the lack of long-term benefits and job security for gig workers.
