Bharti Airtel has joined hands with quick commerce platform Blinkit to deliver SIM cards to customers within ten minutes. The service will charge a nominal fee of Rs 49. This is the first time a telecom company has announced a partnership like this.
Blinkit founder and CEO Albinder Dhindsa announced the partnership with an X post. “Starting today, customers can get a SIM delivered and choose to get a new prepaid or postpaid connection or switch their existing number to Airtel,” read the post.

Once delivered, customers can activate the SIM after the Aadhaar-based KYC authentication. In an alternative approach, customers can also access the help centre via the Airtel Thanks App or call customer support.
It is important to note that users need to activate their SIM card within 15 days of delivery.
“@airtelindia has also created a new flow which allows customers to complete SIM activation with a simple self-verification using Aadhaar at home – no store visits, no paperwork,” added the Blinkit CEO.
