The Amazon Great Indian Festival 2023, which commenced on October 8 and ended on November 10, has registered a record-breaking 110 crore customer visits. The e-commerce giant announced that more than 40 lakh new customers shopped on the platform for the first time. During the month-long sale, more than 750 sellers achieved sales worth crores, and 31,000 sellers made sales worth lakhs. Amazon said that their flagship festive sale recorded the highest number of transactions, new launches, orders, and savings compared to previous sales.

Amazon said in its official statement that they have delivered at least one order to more than 19,000 pin-codes in the country, with 80% of new customers coming from tier 2 and below towns. Also, over 38,000 sellers achieved their highest-ever single-day sales. The platform also revealed that more than 65 percent of Prime members who shopped during this sale season were from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities and towns.

In terms of products, Amazon sold 2.5 times more smartphones in the premium segment compared to the previous year. This growth was mainly due to no-cost EMI options and exchange offers. Also, 60 percent of all smartphones sold were 5G-ready. The company also said that 70 percent of all smartphone orders came from towns in Tier 2 and below. There was also significant growth in the sale of large-screen TVs, as it marked over 50% higher sales than in 2022. Notably, 3 out of 5 orders in the consumer electronics and personal computing categories were from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. Also, the beauty devices category saw a 70% surge in sales. Financing options played a vital role in the recently concluded Amazon Great Indian Festival. During the sale, one out of four purchases was made on EMI, and three out of four products were sold on no-cost EMIs.
