The divorce case of Gautam Singhania, the Chairman and Managing Director of the Raymond Group, has hit the headlines, with his wife Nawaz Modi demanding 75% of the Rs 11,660 crore property of Singhania. Now his estranged father, Vijaypat Singhania, has made a comment on the issue. He indirectly accuses his son of being greedy with a hard-line stance.
Vijaypat Singhania testifies that he himself fell prey to his son”s actions. According to him, the Hindu Marriage Act provides a wife with 50% right over her ex-husband”s property after separation. So, there is no point in claiming 75% of his property. Gautam Singhania could easily authenticate the right to have only 50% rights in court.
Moreover, Gautam will not leave anything for free. His motto is to buy everybody and everything, and Vijaypat Singhania added that”s what he had done to him. Those who have not been aware of the feud between Vijaypat Singhania may be skeptical about his words. However, according to the report, Vijaypat was literally being ousted from his office and home by his son.
Vijaypat Singhania, who was one of the flag bearers of the Indian industry after building the Raymond Group, is now living in a rented apartment. His descent from the spotlight started when he decided to endow all property to his son. Since then, disagreement between them has worsened, and when Gautam held all the powers in his hand, he ousted his father from home, according to an interview on Business Today with Vijaypath Singhania.
“Gautam is never going to give in because his motto is to buy everybody and buy everything. That”s what he did with me. I didn”t have that kind of money left to fight him. He bought everything. He”ll buy everything. By fighting like this, I don”t think she”ll get much,” Vijaypath says, according to reports.
