Zomato Introduces AI Chatbot, Foodie Buddy, The Ultimate Food Companion For All Moods

Zomato has introduced Foodie Buddy, Zomato’s AI chatbot.

Currently, the AI, Foodie Buddy is available only to its gold members. The feature is available in the latest version of Zomato and not as a separate app.

“We are excited to introduce Zomato AI, a groundbreaking innovation that is more than just a chatbot. This intelligent, intuitive, and interactive foodie has been meticulously designed to assist you in placing orders. It aligns with your momentarily unique food & beverage preferences, dietary needs, and even your moods!”, Zomato said through its website.

If you are unsure of what to order, Zomato AI can suggest a list of dishes and restaurants by taking cue from your meal selection, or if you are craving a special dish, it can show you a widget with a list of restaurants which serve your special dish. The AI, in order to do these functions uses the various data that is needed to answer the question.

The features are natural texting, response to multiple texts and being the ultimate food companion.

The Zomato AI chatbot can link together multiple prompts and functions and give an uninterrupted conversation, as effortlessly as a chat with a good friend, the company said about its in-house developed technology.

The AI will respond to multiple texts, which makes Zomato AI stand apart, unlike many other AI products which allows only one message at a time. The responses to the texts will be in “almost real time, faster than your friends,” the company said.

As the ultimate food companion, the AI is enabled to answer tough questions like, “What should I eat when I’m hungover?” or “Can I eat something that is high protein and low carb?” The features are expected to be a game changer in finding the right food or beverages at the right time, Zomato said.
