"Average Students Can Score Over 75% in CBSE Class 10 Science Board Exam", Says Expert

Class 10 science board exam held from 10:30 to 1:30 PM 20th Feb 2024. Around 42 lakh students from 8,000 schools in India and abroad are appearing for the Class 10 and 12 board exams this year. Priyanka Singh, TGT-Natural Science from Government Co-Ed SSS Laxmi Bai Nagar, talked to Timeline and discussed the Science question paper comprehensively.

The examination paper consisted of 5 sections, with a total of 39 questions of total 80 marks and a time duration of 3 hours. The paper pattern included a mix of question types, such as MCQs, Reason Assertion, Very Short Answers, Short Answers, Long Answers, and Case-Based Questions, including Competency-Based questions.

According to Ms Singh, “Today’s paper was found to be a little twisted leaving the students a little baffled. Paper comprising of total 39 questions in total 5 sections. Paper was set in such a coordinated manner so that an average student can easily achieve more than 75% marks”.

“Approximately 60-70 % questions were straightforward. 60- 70% of the questions were directly asked and rest of the portion demanded in depth knowledge to be applied”, she said.

Ms Priyanka Singh told Timeline, “Section A which comprised of 20 MCQ was found to be easy to moderate where as other sections were found to be moderate to tough. It had a mix of direct and application-based questions”.

“Overall, the paper was student-friendly. The competency-based questions in physics demanded thorough knowledge of concepts”, she added.
