Expert Says Class 10 English Exam Was ‘An Apt Question Paper Set To Achieving High Scores For All Students’

Class 10th CBSE Board English Examination was held at different centers distributed across various cities, today February 26. The exam started at 10:30 am and concluded at 1:30 pm.

To know the difficulty level of the English exam and its analysis, we reached out to Ms. Pratibha, TGT English, Govt. Co. Ed. Senior Secondary School – Laxmi Bai Nagar, Delhi. As per the teacher’s analysis, the overall question paper was found to be of moderate level. Ms Prathibha said that today’s English language and literature question paper was very well set, accommodating all sections equally feasible for the CBSE candidates.

Expert Analysis of English Question Paper

Feedback (review) of the question paper is as follows in the order of different sections: —

Section I

  • The first section comprises two important and common topics -17 Sustainable goals by UNESCO and the National Education Policy 2020.
  • Questions set in this section are appropriately apt and easy to do with the help of given passages.
  • All students may get a good score out of these two passages.

Section II

  • The second section comprises Grammar and writing skills which came effortlessly easy for all students as it has multiple options as answers for students to formulate and choose.
  • For writing skills, common and daily life situations are provided like traffic offenders and voluntary community service.
  • The writing section was equally feasible for all students to score very good marks in this section.

Section III

  • Third section Literature part was also very greatly framed according to different types of stories and events given in the textbook.
  • Two extracts with multiple choice answers from prose and two extracts from poetry framed according to students” intellectual abilities.
  • Short-answer and long-answer questions are also framed in a good way so that students can achieve high marks.
  • Contrast questions are there to enhance students” ability to write in comparison to different stories.

According to Ms Pratibha, it was overall, an apt question paper setting for achieving high scores for all types of students whether high, medium, or low achievers.
