The Union government has assured the state’s demand for NEET PG candidates from Kerala to be allotted examination centers within their state. The re-allotted centers will be announced today.
Kerala unit BJP president K Surendran said that the Union Health Minister JP Nadda informed him on Saturday that the request for a NEET PG exam center would be granted and that the announcement would be made on August 5.

Sharing the letter on X, K Surendran wrote, “On July 31, I spoke with Health Minister Shri @JPNadda Ji and submitted a request letter highlighting the urgent need for this center”.
“Today, JPNadda Ji informed me that the request will be granted and the center will be announced on August 5. On behalf of all Keralites, my heartfelt thanks go to Prime Minister @narendramodi Ji and Health Minister Shri J.P. Nadda Ji for their support and prompt action”.

Soon after the exam city slips were released, candidates reported that some of the centers were located 1000 kilometers away from their preferred cities. This issue gained the support of several parliamentarians with many writing letters to the Health minister.

Earlier, flagging the travel concerns for NEET aspirants of the state, Kerala MPs including Shashi Tharoor, Anto Anthony, Hibi Eden and Benny Behanan had met with Union health minister JP Nadda appealing him to review and rectify the NEET PG exam centers and set up centers in Kerala. The MPs cited the recent Wayanad landslide as a logistical challenge in addition to the financial burden of candidates traveling for examination.
