IGNOU January 2026 Registration Deadline Extended

The Indira Gandhi National Open University has extended the last date of admission for Open and Distance Learning and Online Programmes for the January 2026 session. Students can apply till February 28, 2026. The extension gives more time to fresh applicants and those who could not complete the process earlier.

IGNOU offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate courses in various subjects through ODL and online modes. The candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria can submit their applications through the official admission portals. The candidates are advised to complete the registration process before the new deadline to avoid any last-minute technical problems or payment failures.

IGNOU offers programs through Open and Distance Learning mode across study centres in India and abroad. The Online programmes are delivered fully through digital platforms.

How to apply

Step 1: Candidates can visit the official ODL admission portal – ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.

Step 2: Click on ‘New Registration’ and create an account

Step 3: Filljm in personal, academic, and contact details

Step 4: Upload scanned copies of required documents, photograph and signature

Step 5: Pay application fee online via debit card, credit card or net banking

Step 6: Submit the form and download the confirmation page

The University conducts admissions twice a year, in January, and July session.
