The relationship between a teacher and students is revered and respected which turns into an emotional connection with time. A tale denoting this emotional connection emerged from the Ponakal village in Telanga, where the transfer of J Srinivas, a primary teacher in a government school was followed by over 133 of his students who joined the new school where the teacher got transferred.
Upon receiving the order of his transfer Srinivas had no option but to follow the order. J Srinivas has gained the admiration of students and their parents through his immense contribution in the past 12 years. With Srinivas’ efforts, the number of students went up from 32 to 250 as he took great interest in the students. If any student was absent, Srinivas ensured the reason personally and encouraged them to join the school. Reportedly, for weaker students, Srinivas used to conduct extra classes after school hours.
Listening to the news, students were in tears and waited for what happened next. After informing their parents about Srinivas’ transfer, students decided to go along with the teacher to the new school. On July 1, Srinivas was transferred and in the next two days around 133 students followed him joining the schools in Akkapelliuda, where the total strength has reached 154 now.

Students from classes 1 to 5 joined school which is 3 km away from Ponakal. Parents are ready to take additional effort for their wards to get them into the new school following Srinivas transfer.
Srinivas in an interview to TOI told about the trust of parents in him. He said that he just try to fulfill his duty as a teacher to the best of his abilities. Students love his teaching and he also urge parents to make use of the government schools as the condition of these schools is getting better. A local official also reflected amusement over the students leaving the school for their teacher and joing him.
