After the shocking stampede incident during the Pushpa 2 premiere show, the Telangana government has decided to ban benefit shows in the state. Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy announced that no further permission will be granted for such events.
He said that the decision was made to prevent similar incidents in the future and has also called for an end to all movie fan show releases in Telangana. Due to this, there might be no more benefit shows for Ram Charan’s starrer Game Changer in January.

“We will not grant permissions for any benefit shows in Telangana going forward. This decision is necessary to regulate the film industry and prevent such tragedies from recurring,” he said.
Benefit shows, also known as fan shows, are special screenings organised to celebrate the releases of the movies, especially those featuring top stars. These events are mostly held in the early mornings or late at night, allowing all the fans to gather and showcase their enthusiasm for their favourite actors.
The recent announcement in the state is expected to make an impact on the film industry as the filmmakers and fan groups who traditionally rely on these events to promote movies and build excitement.
The decision, however, has received mixed reactions. While some of them praised the government’s efforts to prioritise safety, others are concerned about the promotional strategies of the film.

Chaos erupted on December 4 at Shadhya Theatre in Chikkadpally, which resulted in the death of a woman and injured multiple attendees, including children.
As per the report, the incident took place due to the failure to implement adequate security measures or arrange separate entry and exit points for the arrival of the lead actor, Allu Arjun, and his team.
