In the box office, Sukumar directed Allu Arjun-Rashmika Mandanna-Fahadh Faasil gangster movie Pushpa: The Rule – Part 2 is an actual wildfire. In the first day alone the movie broke several records.

Etching a new history, the film has already earned over Rs 175 crore on it’s day one. Reigning as the Indian film with highest opening day, the film has collected Rs 270 crore worldwide.

With this impressive box office record, the film dethroned SS Rajamouli’s epic RRR, which secured the top spot by earning Rs 223 crore worldwide on it’s opening day. As the sensational film RRR, pushed down to the second spot, Baahubali 2 becomes the third film with highest opening day record.

As per the Sacnilk report, Pushpa 2: The Rule has earned Rs 95.1 crore in Telugu, Rs 67 crore in Hindi, Rs 7 crore in Tamil, Rs 1 crore in Kannada, Rs 5 crore in Malayalam on its first day. All of this on a weekday. Pushpa 2: The Rule had an overall 82.66% Telugu occupancy.

Industry analyst Taran Adarsh, after calling the Pushpa 2 a wildfire, phenomenal and box office monster, said the movie set these benchmarks at the box office:

  • Highest opening day ever in Hindi
  • Highest non-holiday and non-festival opening day ever in Hindi
  • Highest opening day for a dubbed film in Hindi ever.

Made on a budget of ₹400–500 crore, this directorial of Sukumar is one of the most expensive Indian films. With a runtime of 200 minutes, it is one of the longest Indian films ever made. produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Muttamsetty Media, the film will see Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil reprise their roles as Pushpa Raj, Srivalli, and Bhanwar Singh Shekawat. Allu Arjun, the main lead of the film, received a National Film Award for his performance in the first part.
