
'JNU Should Not Exist..': An Old Video Of Delhi's CM Rekha Gupta Goes Viral
Rekha Gupta has been appointed as the Delhi’s Chief Minister and sworn in as the 9th CM of Delhi and 4th women to hold the capital. The newly elected Delhi’s Chief Minister has been the general secretary and President of DUSU during her education days in Delhi University.

Since Ms Gupta’s name was cleared for the Delhi’s CM post, several of her old social media posts have been circulating. In one such old videos the Delhi’ CM can be seen opposing student’s demands against raising the hostel fee in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
In the viral video, the Rekha Gupta was seen criticising students calling them ‘anti-national and supporting the closer of JNU and said that the University should not exist.
She said, “These guys eat for free Live in hostel by paying 10 rupees. They remain in the name of PhD for 50 years. Keeps mobile worth 1 lakh. Wears T-Shirts of Workth 2,000. Wear shoes worth 8000. They protest when the hostel fees are increased by Rs 300. All of them are traitors. JNU should be closed immediately”.

Gupta won a spectacular victory in the recent Delhi Assembly Election, securing 68,200 votes and defeating AAP’s Bandana Kumari by a margin of 29,595 votes. The BJP returned to power in the national capital after 27 years, securing 48 seats in the 70-member House in the recently held assembly election, ending decade-long AAP rule.
