The Ministry of Education has entrusted the matter of alleged irregularities in the NEET UG -2024 exam to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). As per the information furnished by the ministry, certain cases of cheating, impersonation, and malpractices are reported in the NEET UG exam.
The decision came to ensure transparency in the conduct of the examination process. After reviewing the situation of alleged irregularities in the exam the central government decided to entrust the matter to the CBI for comprehensive investigation.

“For transparency on the conduct of the examination process, the Ministry of Education, Government of India after a review has decided to entrust the matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for comprehensive investigation”, the Education Ministry said.

Central government showcasing commitment to ensure fairness, transparency, and smooth conduct of the examination has also enacted the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024. It aims to prevent unfair means in the public examination and to provide for matters connected.

The government has reiterated its responsibility to ensure the sanctity of the examinations and protect the interest of students. Warning the individuals involved in the irregularities, the central government notification said that the individuals or organizations involved in the process would face strict actions.
The decision came after multiple petitions and demands by students, parents, and political leaders demanding the CBI probe into the NEET-related irregularities.
