Congress affiliated student wing NSUI’s Delhi Students Union (DUSU) elections candidates today reached out to Delhi University students by distributing roses, spreading a message of love, peace, and harmony. This initiative, titled “Mohabbat ki Dukan,” aims to counter the violence allegedly promoted by ABVP, said a statement from the students’ body.
“NSUI is committed to building a violence-free campus. ABVP has been involved in attacking students and faculty at DU. Our message is clear—NSUI-led DUSU will create a peaceful and equal space for all, especially women,” NSUI National President Varun Choudhary said while talking about the campaign.
Namrata Jeph, NSUI’s Secretary Candidate, stated, “Campus violence and unsafe conditions for women must end. Our campaign focuses on change, ensuring women’s safety and advocating for 12 menstrual leaves per semester.”
Candidates also carried copies of the Constitution of India, highlighting their belief in justice, equality, and freedom, and reaffirming NSUI’s dedication to building a democratic and safe campus.
“Delhi University students welcomed the NSUI’s message of love and peace with great enthusiasm. The campaign will continue with similar efforts to ensure a positive, violence-free environment at DU,” the statement said.
