NCERT Invites Applications To Various Teacher Education Programmes

The National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) has invited applications for various Teacher Education Programs at its Regional Institutes of Education (RIEs) for Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysore and Shillong. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the given program in an online mode from April 30, 2024, till May 31, 2024. The application forms are available at the NCERT’s official website – cee.ncert.gov.in.

The programs offered by the regional centers for admission include B.Sc. B.Ed (4-year), B.A.B.Ed (4-year), M.Sc.Ed (6-year), B.Ed (2-year), B.Ed – M.Ed (3-year) and M.Ed (2-year). Admission to these programs will be done based on the Common Entrance Examination (CEE). The common entrance exam will be conducted on June 16, 2024.

As per the notification issued by NCERT regional center Bhubaneshwar, the admit card will be issued on June 10, 2024.


The results for the categories B.Sc. B.Ed (4-year), B.A.B.Ed (4-year), M.Sc.Ed (6-year) will be declared on July 5, 2024. For the categories B.Ed (2-year), B.Ed – M.Ed (3-year) and M.Ed (2-year), the result will be announced on July 7, 2024.

Selection criteria

The merit list will be based on 60% weightage from the entrance examination and 40% from aggregate scores for B.Sc.B.Ed./B.A.B.Ed./M.Sc.Ed./B.Ed./B.Ed.M.Ed (Integrated)/M.Ed exam marks. The common entrance test will have 80 questions including 20 questions on language proficiency, 30 based on teaching aptitude, and 30 to check reasoning ability. Each question carries 2 marks and 1/4th mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Candidates must have passed +2/ Hr. Secondary/ Sr. Secondary or equivalent examination in Science and Commerce streams or Arts streams with at least 50% marks in aggregate (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/ PWD candidates) to get admission to the programs.
