A 3-judge bench led by CJI DY Chandrachud, Justice J B Pardiwala, and Manoj Misra listened to the matter to postpone the NEET PG 2024. The Supreme Court bench dismissed the petition that plead to reschedule the examination on August 11. The exam will now be conducted as per the schedule set up by the NBEMS. This year, over 2.28 lakh candidates are about to appear for the exam.
While hearing the petition, CJI said that rescheduling the PG exam is not possible now as this will impact over 2 lakh students and 4 lakh parents who are to appear for the examination. The Chief Justice also mentioned the rise in the number of such petitions demanding the postponement of the examination. Justice Chandrachud also said that the exam can not be postponed at the behest of 5 petitioners.
Now the NEET PG examination is going to be held at the scheduled time despite the concerns raised by many candidates through various means and social media platforms. The major issue of the candidate was the nuisance emerging out of the travel and difficult location of the examination centres.
The Supreme Court verdict was not welcomed by the candidates who said to be suffered through the long distance travel and lodging facilities in the examination centre cities. After the verdict came, many students and other users responded to the dismissal order by the SC bench today.
One user defended the argument that students want to postpone exam for due to the lack of preparation, and said, “This is for the people who are thinking that student are demanding neet pg to postpone due to lack of preparation”.

After the NEET PG petition hearing the screening of ‘Laapta Ladies’ was slated to be organised in the Court where Aamir Khan was also supposed to be present. Users on social media ‘X’ responded to the petition dismissal and mentioned the screening in their tweets. One user wrote “This has to be the FUNNIEST court hearing I’ve ever seen. The CJIs were not acting as judges, they were acting as opposition! Didn’t even listen to the adv. pleading our case. Never have I ever seen all CJIs be so excited for a movie that they leave hearing midway! #NEETPG“
