Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2024 for all the categories today. As per the list, Delhi University’s Hindu College ranked as the best college in the country. Miranda House College and St. Stephen’s College acquired second and third positions, respectively.

- PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Coimbatore
- Loyola College, Chennai
- Kirori Mal College, Delhi
- Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi
Marking the ninth edition of the annual ranking list, it evaluates top institutions in India across 13 different categories, including universities, colleges, research institutions, engineering, management, pharmacy, medical, dental, law, architecture and planning, agriculture and allied sectors, and innovation.
This year, three new categories, namely ‘open universities’, ‘Skill universities’ and ‘State funded government universities’, have been introduced. The Education Ministry plans to start ‘sustainability rankings’ from next year, AICTE chairperson, Anil Sahasrabudhe, said.

According to NIRF ranking 2023, Miranda House secured the top spot in the colleges list, followed by Hindu College and Presidency College.

Last year, over 5,543 higher education institutions participated in the NIRF.
