“We plan to increase seats in our flagship programmes, including PGP, IPM, and PGPHRM, alongside expanding our campus making it ultra-modern and net zero campus. This initiative encompasses the construction of new academic and administrative blocks, executive residences, and hostels to accommodate over 870 students, ensuring world-class infrastructure conducive to holistic learning,” Prof. Rai outlined. The institute”s aim for world-class infrastructure aligns with its international engagements, hosting courses for foreign government executives, with two programmes conducted in 2023 in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. “Future plans involve forging partnerships with more foreign universities, totalling 75 collaborations to offer global exposure to students, faculty, and staff”, he added.
As part of our continuous commitment to growth and innovation, we are keen on strengthening our robust alumni network, which has now exceeded 10,000 members, he said. We firmly believe that our alumni are invaluable assets, offering insights into industry trends and aiding in the evolution of our curriculum to ensure its alignment with the latest industry developments. This collaboration enables us to consistently introduce new courses as electives, fostering a dynamic learning environment. In line with this commitment, this year, we are set to introduce electives like Understanding Power, Advanced Corporate and Economic Laws, B2G: Doing Business with Government, Marketing AI Enabled Health Care, People and Power: Understanding Elections Power and Appointment Through Mathematics, Agile and Adaptive HR Practises, Strategy Through Cinema, Services Led Digital Transformation, and more, catering to emerging industry demands.
Moreover, our executive education offerings are expanding significantly, aiming to reach around 210+ courses by the coming year, with plans for further augmentation in the near future. This initiative is geared towards providing professionals with cutting-edge knowledge and skills to excel in their respective fields. The institute boasts a substantial alumni base of over 800 in the UAE, GCC nations, and the Middle East, prompting plans for international expansion.
Under Prof. Rai”s dynamic leadership, IIM Indore secured prestigious international accreditations—EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA—solidifying its global competitiveness. The aim for the coming years includes securing a place in the top 50 in FT100 rankings, achieving the Five Palms of Excellence in Eduniversals Ranking, and being among India”s top 5 B-schools.
IIM Indore”s commitment to environmental sustainability is evident in its initiatives towards becoming a net-zero campus. Prof. Rai emphasized projects focusing on renewable energy adoption, waste management, and green initiatives that align with the institute”s responsible stewardship of the environment.
Prof. Rai also highlighted the Center of Excellence (CoE) at IIM Indore, which is set to commence four new batches in January. The institute will be starting the first batches of its new courses, including the Leadership Development Programme in Hindi, which breaks language barriers in management education. Moreover, offerings like the Master of Management Studies online degree and joint courses with foreign universities are in the pipeline.
His reappointment signifies a new phase of growth and development, with IIM Indore poised to continue making significant contributions to management education and maintaining its beacon of excellence.
