India has launched QUAD scholarship worth $ 500,000 (~Rs 4,17,40,225) for students from the Indo-Pacific region. The announcement came during PM Narendra Modi’s ‘QUAD Summit’ participation at Wilmington, Delaware. The meeting was attended by US President Joe Biden, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of Australia, and Prime Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan.
The Institute of International Education (IIE), a global not-for-profit organization, will manage the fellowship.
These scholarships will support students pursuing a 4-year undergraduate engineering program at a government of India-funded technical institution. Starting in 2024, the fellowship will also support master’s and doctoral students to study science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in the United States.
