SC On NEET PG 2025: "Why Only A Handful Of Students Complained Out Of 2 Lakh"?

Supreme Court hears case regarding alleged lack of transparency in NEET PG 2025 examination. The bench comprises Justices JB Pardiwala and KV Viswanathan. Notably, the issue is with the disclosure of the question and answer sheets.

The NEET PG 2025 examination was held on August 3, 2025.

While questioning the number of petitioners, the Supreme Court objected only to the handful of students appearing to challenge the NEET PG answer key and question paper released by the NBEMS. “How many are before us today with the same prayer? 2 lakh have given the exam, why have 14 come?”, the court asked.

Notably, the Supreme Court has also denied the earlier pleas seeking a stay on the counselling for the NEET PG 2025 exam. Whereas the court asked NBEMS to ensure transparency, and deferred the matter regarding the answer key hearing.

The counsel requested the disclosure of the question and answer sheets. “The only urgency is that the counselling process may begin anytime. We are not seeking any disturbance in that. We want the questions and answers to be disclosed so we can see our position. If we want reevaluation, etc. We have raised discrepancies, irregularities, and malpractices”, the counsel said.

The court said in response, “We have no time to hear you today. Immediately after reopening”.

To the question of only 14 people coming to challenge the result, the counsel said, We have a Google form signed by 2000 candidates.

The counsel has also objected that the NEET PG is the only exam where there are no question papers and no answer sheets. To this, the court responded that why are only a handful of the students’ objections were out of a lack of students.

The court has directed respondents to file their counter by the next date of hearing. The counters and rejoinders will be filed by the next date.
