St Stephen’s College has moved to High Court following clashed with the Delhi University over students admission. The colleged allegedly step up against ‘DU’s inaction’ by not opening its fee protal for 19 Christian students who have been approved by the colleged for admission under the reserved category for the minority in the college.
The college requested the court of Justice Sanjeev Narula to issue a directive to Delhi University for opening the fee portal for 19 students, as September 15 is the last date to make online payments. However, senior advocate Moninder Rupal who is representing Delhi University objected to the request and submitted that the admission process shall remain open till September 30.

Under the petition, the college highlighted that 66 candidates were chosen under the Christian reserved category and 47 admissions were processed by the DU promptely.
Reprotedly, the college had sent the list of selected candidates for the undergraduate programmes to DU on August 24. As per the college submission, DU has asked the college for the information on the candidates and demanded certian clarifications, which the college has provided.
Justice Narula has put the matter for further hearing on September 17.
The DU and St Stephen’s College are continuing dispute over the seat matrix. Earlier during a petition the HC has directed St Stephen’s College to admit 7 students after DU accused the college of not confirming their admission despite seat allocation by the university
