Yuva Sangam Phase-III Hosted By IIT Guwahati

The Ministry of Education initiative ‘Yuva Sangam Phase – III’ under ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ is hosted and facilitated by IIT Guwahati. Under the Phase – III, participants from Maharashtra experienced Day 4 at the KaviKrishna Silk Museum in Guwahati. Participants were immersed in the complexities of silk production in addition to learning about the weaving and reeling processes.

During the visit, youth received a multi-dimensional exposure in five broad areas, including Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development), Paraspar Sampark (People-to-people connect) and Prodyogik (Technology). The programme focused on bridging around 50 participants from Maharashtra and Assam for a cultural and educational exchange. The phase-III focuses on exposure tours for youth studying in higher educational institutions and off-campus youngsters across the nation.

Delegates were presented with the traditional Assamese Gamocha, sought blessing at Kamakhya temple, visited Assam Raj Bhavan, and interacted with the Hon’ble Governor Shri Gulab Kataria through a lively question-answer session.

‘Yuva Sangam’ under ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ has been conceptualised with the aim of strengthening people to connect and build bonhomie among the youth across the nation.  Notice that Phase I of the Yuva Sangam was also hosted by IIT Guwahati.

Yuva Sangam Phase-III had participation from 22 states and UTs with the Higher Education Institutions paired conducting the exposure tours: Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh-IIT Delhi; IIT Dharwad-IIT Ropar; SPPU Pune-IIT Guwahati; IIT Hyderabad-BHU Varanasi; IIM Trichy-IIIT Kota; IIM Sambalpur-NIT Calicut; IIITDM Jabalpur-IIT Kharagpur; IIIT Ranchi-NIT Kurukshetra; NIT Goa-IIT Bhilai; and IIM Bodhgaya-IIIT Surat.
