On the contrary, the Communist Party of India (CPI) has announced its candidates for the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections marking a break from its alliance with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress parties. This decision comes after the CPI expressed dissatisfaction with the seat allocation offered by its former allies, as reported by ANI.
CPI state secretary Mahendra Pathak criticised the current Hemant Soren-led government on Tuesday stating that it has “disappointed the youth for five years.” The party will contest 15 seats in the 81-member Jharkhand assembly. Pathak explained that despite initial assurances from JMM and Congress leaders regarding seat sharing, the CPI was ultimately left disappointed which further prompted its decision to go solo.
