Julana Election Results: Yogesh Kumar Leads As Vinesh Poghat Trails

Congress candidate and the former wrestler Vinesh Phogat hs won the Julana Assembly seat in Haryana. Securing a total of 65,080 votes, the wrestler has won the election with a margin of 6,015 votes.

The Julana constituency has been the hot seat of the Haryana assembly elections 2024, as the Olympian Vinesh Phogat was fielded against the BJP’s captain Yogesh Kumar. With the Ex wrestler Kavita Dalal fielded by the AAP party, the constituency witnessed a triangular battle.

On the other hand, Yogesh Kumar of the BJP party has bagged a total of 59,065 votes. With the olympian turned politician’s win, the grand old party has retained its position nearly after a decade. The party last won the seat in 2005, and it is the first time in 19 years that the grand old party in Julana.

Olympians Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia — well known for their athletic prowess as well as for leading the wrestlers’ protest against then WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh — had entered the political arena last month by joining the Congress.
