Kalliasseri Sees Steady 76.99% Turnout
Polling in the Kalliasseri Assembly constituency recorded a voter turnout of 76.99% in the Kerala Assembly Elections 2026, reflecting steady participation throughout the day.
Across Kerala, voting for the next legislative assembly was held in all 140 constituencies, with around 2.84 crore voters eligible to cast their votes. The polling process remained largely peaceful across the state.
In Kalliasseri, a Left fortress, voters began arriving early in the morning, and turnout increased steadily as the day progressed. Polling booths witnessed a consistent flow of voters, and no major incidents were reported, ensuring a smooth polling process.
In terms of candidates, M Vijin (CPIM) is seen as confident due to strong party support and his previous performance. Adv. Rajeevan Kappacheri (INC) is leading the challenge for the UDF, aiming to gain ground in the constituency. Sanil AV (BJP) is also in the race, while KK Abdul Jabbar (SDPI) remains another candidate in the fray. The main contest is between the LDF and the UDF.
