Ahead of the Telangana Assembly Election, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and MLC K Kavitha calling Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as “Election Gandhi” said he can come to Telangana as a tourist, and taste the famous “Ankapur chicken,” a local delicacy, and go back.

On Wednesday, speaking to reporters in Bodhan, Ms Kavitha also said that she requests Congress MP, who is planning to visit Nizamabad during his three day-bus yatra, that not to create differences among Telangana people with his “weird” words.

BRS leader then asked why Congress leader is visiting the state; she accused that Mr Gandhi had done nothing for Telangana, was not part of the state’s “growth story.”

“You have no place in Telangana. That is why Mr Rahul ji we want to call you only Election Gandhi not Rahul Gandhi. This (name Rahul Gandhi) does not suit you when you come to Telangana. When you come to Nizamabad, have Ankapur chicken which is very popular here. We welcome you to come here as a tourist and please go. Thank you so much,” she said.

She then alleged that in the past, communal riots broke out in states whenever the Congress wanted to change Chief Ministers. “You come here and say weird words about Hindus and Muslims. Don’t spoil the atmosphere. Telangana is peaceful, (Telangana me aman hai chein hai sukoon hai aur barkat hai). Don’t spoil this atmosphere. This is my request to you,” BRS MLC said.

She said that communal harmony exists in the state, Muslims in Hyderabad recently postponed their Milad Un Nabi procession since it fell on Ganesh idol immersion Day. Adding further, she said that because of communal peace and harmony, investments are pouring into the state.

Ms Kavitha also claimed that Congress which ruled in the past failed to facilitate even drinking water to people.

Ms. Kavitha is the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister KCR and a former Lok Sabha MP.

Mr Gandhi and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi will kick-start the election campaign in Telangana with the Vijayabheri bus yatra on Wednesday. Congress MP on his three-day-visit will held a series of public meetings and interact with farmers, labourers, and party members. Earlier he was on a two-day visit to poll-bound Mizoram.

Telangana will go to booths on November 30 and result will be announced on December 3.
