KCR Resigns As Chief Minister

BRS supremo and Chief Minister of Telangana K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) acknowledging his party”s defeat in the election submitted his resignation to Governor. The resurgent Congress has dismantled the aspirations of BRS president who wished for a third successive term. KCR has been Telangana”s Chief Minister since the formation of state in 2014. As BRS suffered a huge blow in this election, the national ambitions of the party has also been questioned.

KCR contested in two constituencies, his home turf, Gajwel and native region, Kamareddy. When BRS leader is leading in Gajwel, he has lost Kamareddy seat to BJP.

Accepting the defeat, KT Rama Rao wrote on X: “Grateful to the people of Telangana for giving BRS party two consecutive terms of Government.  Not saddened over the result today, but surely disappointed as it was not in expected lines for us. But we will take this in our stride as a learning and will bounce back Congratulations to Congress party on winning the mandate. Wishing you Good Luck”
