Kerala Assembly Elections 2026: LDF’s M Vijin Wins Kalliasseri By 18,433 Votes

Kerala: As per Election Commission data, M. Vijin of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has secured a strong victory in the Kalliasseri constituency with 81,428 votes. He defeated Adv. Rajeevan Kappacheri of the Indian National Congress, who polled 62,995 votes.

Vijin won the seat with a margin of 18,433 votes after the completion of all 14 rounds of counting. The large margin reflects a clear and steady lead maintained by the LDF candidate throughout the counting process.

BJP candidate Sanil A. V finished third with 13,110 votes, while K. K. Abdul Jabbar of the Social Democratic Party of India secured 1,281 votes. The figures show that the main contest remained between the LDF and UDF candidates.

The consistent lead and final margin indicate strong voter support for Vijin in the constituency. The result also shows that the LDF has been able to comfortably retain its position in Kalliasseri.

The counting of votes for the 2026 Kerala Assembly elections began at 8:00 am on Monday, marking the culmination of a high-stakes political battle among the United Democratic Front (UDF), the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF), and the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
