Lal Bahadur Nagar Chooses Devireddy Sudhir Reddy: A Landmark Win In The 2023 Telangana Elections

Devireddy Sudhir Reddy of Bharat Rashtra Samithi emerged triumphant in the 2023 Telangana Assembly Elections, securing an impressive 1,11,380 votes in Lal Bahadur Nagar constituency. Lal Bahadur Nagar witnessed an intense electoral battle between key candidates, including Devireddy, BJP’s  Sama Ranga Reddy, and Congress’ Madhu Yaskhi Yadav.

Devireddy Sudhir Reddy emerged victorious with 1,11,380 votes and Sama Ranga Reddy came second with 89075 votes.

The elections to Telangana state assembly were held on November 30 for 119 seats. Lal Bahadur Nagar is one of 14 constituencies in Ranga Reddy district. It is part of the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency.

Lal Bahadur Nagar, according to state election authorities, required 1,719 balloting units, the highest requirement among the 119 Assembly constituencies and the highest number of candidates-48 in all.

In 2014, TDP’s Ryaga Krishnaiah defeated Mudda Gowni Ram Mohan Goud as the former polled 84,316 votes and the latter polled 71,791 votes. INC’s Devireddy Sudheer Reddy came third with 56,489 votes. The total electorate was 5,29,717 in 2014.

Devireddy Sudheer Reddy was the winning candidate from the Lal Bahadur Nagar constituency in the Telangana Assembly elections 2018, securing 1,14,242 votes while 96,303 votes were polled in favor of Mudda Gowni Ram Mohan Goud of TRS who came second. BJP’s Shekar Rao Perala came third with 21,563 votes. The constituency had 4,93,845 voters then.

Overall, out of the total 119 seats, Congress has won 64 seats and BRS is in second. BJP is currently at the third position in the total seat share. Along with Telangana, the Assembly elections were held in four other states including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram.
