Sahebganj Election Result: BJP’s Raju Kumar Singh Registers Big Win

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has successfully retained the Sahebganj Assembly seat in Muzaffarpur district, with its candidate Raju Kumar Singh securing a decisive victory.

Raju Kumar Singh won the seat with 109325 votes, defeating his nearest rival Prithwinath Ray of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) by a margin of 13893 votes, reaffirming the BJP’s dominance in this Tirhut region constituency.

Sahebganj, part of the Muzaffarpur political landscape and an important segment of the Tirhut Division, witnessed a multi-party contest this year. Alongside BJP and the RJD, the Jan Suraaj Party, BSP, and independent candidates were also in the fray, adding layers of competition to this high-stakes seat.

Despite the multi-cornered fight, the BJP maintained its traditional stronghold with a comfortable margin throughout the day’s counting rounds.

Early trends showed Raju Kumar Singh leading steadily, polling 82970 votes by mid-afternoon. As counting progressed, his lead widened, crossing the one-lakh mark. RJD’s Prithwinath Ray attempted to close the gap but remained behind consistently.

The final tally reflects a decisive mandate in favour of the BJP, with voters renewing their trust in Raju Kumar Singh and the party’s performance in the region. Sahebganj has long been a politically significant area due to its demographic diversity, strong caste presence, and history of multi-party contests.

This victory adds another seat to the BJP’s share in the 2025 assembly electoral map, contributing to the alliance’s sweeping performance across Bihar, where NDA partners have collectively crossed the 200-seat benchmark.

The result reaffirms the growing influence of the BJP in the Muzaffarpur belt, solidifying the party’s foothold ahead of future electoral cycles.
