Telangana Assembly Elections Results: Congress Candidate Gaddam Prasad Kumar Wins From Vicarabad constituency

Congress candidate Gaddam Prasad Kumar wins Vicarabad constituency which is reserved for Scheduled Caste category. Vicarabad constituency in Telangana witnessed a fight between Gaddam Prasad Kumar of Congress, Anand Methuku of the BRS and P Naveen Kumar of BJP. G Prasad Kumar defeated Bharath Rashtra Samithi (BRS) candidate Anand Methuku by securing 86885 votes. While Anand Methuku has got 73992 votes and he  was followed by BJP’s P Naveen Kumar with 7132 votes.

In the 2018 assembly elections held in Vicarabad, Anand Methuka won under the TRS banner by securing 60574 votes. It was also G. Prasad Kumar of Congress with 57581 votes was defeated by him in 2018 with a low margin. G. Prasad Kumar representing INC has been contesting in assembly elections from Vikarabad since 2014. AIFB candidate A. Chandrashekhar came third with 24282 votes. The total electorate was 207222 in 2018. In the assembly election of 2014 B Sanjeeva Rao of TRS emerged as the MLA with 64592 votes. While G. Prasad Kumar of Congress was able to get 54520 votes.

Vicarabad is one of the four constituencies in Vikarabad district in Telangana. The assembly constituency consists of the mandals namely Vikarabad, Marpalle, Mominpet,Dharur, Bantwaram and Kotpalli.

It was on 30th November the elections to Telangana State Assembly were held.Overall, according to the latest reports, out of the total 119 seats, Congress is leading with 64 seats and BRS with 39 seats is in second. BJP with 8 seats is currently in the third position in the total seat share. While the AIMIM and CPI were able to secure 7 and 1 seats respectively.

Along with Telangana, the Assembly elections were held in four other states including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Mizoram.
