Telangana Election Results: Bandari Lakshma Reddy Secures Commanding Win In Uppal, Defeats Strong Opponents

In a closely watched electoral battle in the Uppal constituency, Bandari Lakshma Reddy emerged victorious in the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections, capturing the seat with a resounding mandate of 1,32,927 votes. Reddy”s triumph marked a significant chapter in Uppal”s political landscape, where he faced tough competition from BJP’s N.V.S.S Prabhakar and M Parameshwar Reddy from the Congress party.

Bandari Reddy, representing BRS party, secured an impressive 1,32,927 votes, firmly establishing his dominance in Uppal. Parameshwar Reddy came second with 83,897 votes. The BJP candidate who came third garnered 47,332 votes.

The elections to Telangana State Assembly were held on November 30 for 119 seats. Uppal is one of 14 constituencies in Ranga Reddy district, also part of the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency.

In 2014, N.V.S.S Prabhakar of BJP defeated TRS’s Bethi Subhas Reddy as he polled 82,395 votes while the latter polled 68,225 votes. INC’s Bandari Lakshma Reddy came third with 34,331 votes. The total electorate was 4,54,734 in 2014.

In 2018, Bethi Subhas Reddy of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi won the seat by defeating Tulla Veerender Goud of the Telugu Desam Party with a margin of 48168 votes. The then MLA and BJP candidate N.V.S.S Prabhakar came third with 26,798 votes.

Overall out of the total 119 seats, congress has comfortably won Telangana and BRS is second in seats table. BJP is currently in the third position in the total seat share. Along with Telangana, the Assembly elections were held in four other states including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Mizoram. The results of three states except Mizoram have also been announced on Sunday, while Mizoram results have been released on Monday.
