Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress (TMC) nominated four, out of which three are women, to the Rajya Sabha. The nominated includes journalist Sagarika Ghose, TMC politicians Sushmita Dev, Nadimul Haque and Mamata Thakur.

We extend our heartfelt wishes to them and may they work towards upholding Trinamool’s enduring legacy of indomitable spirit and advocacy for the rights of every Indian,” TMC’s official X handle said in a post.
Sagarika Ghose is a prominent Indian journalist known for her incisive commentary and insightful reporting. With a career spanning over three decades, Ghose has worked with several leading media organizations, including CNN-IBN, The Times of India, and The Indian Express. Ghose has authored several books and is a frequent contributor to national and international publications, and famous journalist Rajdeep Sardesai is her spouse.
With a background in law, Sushmita Dev entered politics at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks. She served as a Member of Parliament representing the Silchar constituency in Assam and held key positions within the Indian National Congress before joining the TMC. Dev is known for her advocacy on women”s rights and social justice issues, and a regular face of TMC in television debates.
Hailing from a political family, Mamata Thakur entered politics with strong grassroots support. Thakur represented the Diamond Harbour constituency in the Lok Sabha and played a pivotal role in the TMC”s organisational activities in the state.
Nadimul Haque Has been renominated as a member of the Rajya Sabha, has been instrumental in advocating for the state”s interests at the national level. Haque”s background in business and his deep-rooted commitment to social welfare have shaped his political career.
