Pushpa actor Allu Arjun announced his new film with none other than Tamil director Atlee. Tentatively titled AA22, the announcement was revealed on the occasion of the actor’s 43rd birthday by the production house Sun Pictures.
The upcoming project is expected to be a sci-fi action film with Indian roots. Promising an extraordinary cinematic experience, the team, followed by Atlee and Allu Arjun, traveled to Los Angeles to meet the renowned animation and VFX team.

Released by Sun Pictures, the video showed Allu Arjun visiting the company’s Chennai office and meeting Atlee and producer Kalanithi Maran. “Gear up for the Landmark Cinematic Event. #AA22xA6 – A Magnum Opus from Sun Pictures,” read the caption.

In the video, Allu Arjun, Atlee, and Kalanithi Maran can be seen discussing the script with Hollywood VFX experts. Jos Fernandez, CEO and art director of Ironhead Studio, was one of the technicians. He has worked on Spider-Man: Homecoming, Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Age of Ultron. James Madigan, VFX supervisor for films like GI Joe: Retaliation and Iron Man 2, was also part of the team.
About the script, James Madigan said, “I just read the script and I’ve got to say, my head is still spinning.” Mike Elizalde, artistic director at Spectral Motion, added, “The script is seriously unlike anything I’ve ever read. It is the best of the best of what I would ever want to create.”
This announcement has unveiled the makers’ aim to create a cinematic world of superheroes and futuristic characters, as the director is seen experimenting with various masks and PlayStation gear that simulate 3D characters. The project is expected to go on floors later this year, with further details about the cast, crew, and release schedule to be announced soon.
