"Accept It With Humility And Pride": Actor Jayaram On Winning The 'Sree Chithra Thirunal National Award'
Renowned Malayalam actor Jayaram was recently honored with Kerala’s prestigious Sree Chithra Thirunal National Award. The pan-Indian star expressed his deep gratitude and respect for the recognition through a heartfelt note.
The versatile actor who entertained the audience for decades as a mimicry artist, playback singer and Chenda percussionist received the prestigious Sree Chithra Thirunal National Award from the governor of Kerala.
With a record of delivering more than 200 films in a span of three decades, Jayaram is also the recipient of prestigious awards like the Padma Shri, two Kerala State Film Awards, one Tamil Nadu State Film Award, and four Filmfare Awards South.

Actor Jayaram penned his gratitude in a heartfelt note. The Ponniyin Selvan actor posted a picture of himself with his wife at the event on his Instagram page and wrote, “I express my heartfelt gratitude and deep respect for being honored with the prestigious “Sree Chithira Thirunal National Award” from the Honorable Governor of Kerala.”
Accepting the prestigious recognition, the Retro star wrote, “I accept this recognition with great humility and pride. It stands as a significant milestone in my journey, inspiring me to continue my efforts with renewed dedication and a stronger sense of responsibility.”
The actor in particular expressed his excitement for his wife’s presence at his special moment, saying, “I am especially happy and blessed that my wife, @aswathi_jayaram, is here with me today to witness this special moment, making the occasion even more memorable and meaningful.”

‘Retro‘ actor Suriya on Jayaram
Jayaram is known for his versatility and eagerness to excel in his craft. Even his Retro co-star, Suriya, in a recent promotional event, recalled how the Abraham Ozler actor had set standards on the sets of Retro.
About Jayaram’s dedication, Suriya reminisced, “Jayaram sir was like a first-bench student, constantly practicing and improving himself, even after achieving so much. He is an evergreen hero. But unmindful of all his accomplishments, the contribution that he made for the film by daily improving himself left us awestruck.”
Jayaram will be next seen in director Karthik Subbaraj’s action entertainer, Retro, scheduled to hit theatres on May 1. Jointly produced by Stone Bench Films and Suriya’s 2D Entertainment, the film boasts a stellar cast including Pooja Hegde, Joju George, Jayaram, Nassar, Prakash Raj, Shreya Saran, and others on board.
