Actor Mohanlal's Mother Santhakumari Dies At 90
Kochi, Kerala: Actor Mohanlal’s mother Santhakumari (90) died on Tuesday, after long battling to the age-related ailments. She has been undergoing treatment, and was residing at Mohanlal’s home in Elamakkara, Kochi. She had celebrated her 90th birthday on August 10 this year
Mohanlal has special bond with his mother, and the actor has been seen talking about his mother emotionally at several times. He has always found time amid his busy schedule to visit and take care of his mother.
After the actor received Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest award in the film industry in the country, Mohanlal said it was a great fortune to be able to share the award with his mother, adding that the first person he visited after getting the award was his mother.
Originally from Elanthoor in Pathanamthitta, Santhakumari had moved to Thiruvananthapuram many years ago following her husband Viswanathan Nair’s professional commitments. He served the Kerala government as its law secretary before his death.

Santhakumari lived at the family home in Thiruvananthapuram for most of her life. After she suffered a stroke, Mohanlal later brought her to Kochi so she could stay with him.
