
Actress Muthumani Earns PhD In Copyright Law (image-instagram/muthumaniiii)
Malayalam actress Muthumani Somasundaran, famous for her roles in Vinodayathra, Kadal Kadannu Oru Mathukutty, and the recent Unni Mukundan-starrer Get Set Baby, recently earned yet another milestone in her professional career. The actor earned her doctoral degree from the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).
Under the guidance of Dr. Kavitha Chalakkal, she had submitted her thesis titled, ‘Effectiveness of the Copyright Act 1957 in Protecting the Interests of Directors and Writers in Indian Films’, which focuses on copyright laws in movies.

The actor had completed her research study at the Inter-University Centre for IPR Studies in CUSAT.
Muthumani’s husband, screenwriter and filmmaker PR Arun, congratulated her on the special occasion through an Instagram post featuring photos from her journey. He wrote: “Witnessing firsthand the journey of Muthumani — from Advocate Muthumani to Actor Muthumani to Dr. Muthumani — has been the most fulfilling and happiest experience of my life.”

Actress Muthumani, who had made her entry into films through theatre, has a line-up of movies in her kitty. Her distinctive curly locks had always played a major role in securing those kinds of roles which she had aced until now. She is also a lawyer by profession.
She made her silver screen debut through the Mohanlal-starrer Rasathanthram, which was released in 2006. Some of the other films she had been part of include Vinodayathra (2007), Innathe Chinthavishayam (2008), Kadal Kadannu Oru Mathukutty (2013), Annayum Rasoolum (2013), Oru Indian Pranaya Katha (2013), How Old Are You? (2014), and Lukka Chuppi (2015).
