‘Arya’ Allu Arjun’s Evergreen Film Completes 20 Years

Allu Arjun’s ever-green film ‘Arya’, Sukumar directorial has turned 20 on May 7. The movie which was released on May 7, 2004, went on to become a blockbuster at the box office and still remains etched in the hearts of many. 

The film Arya holds a special place in the heart of the lead actor, Allu Arjun. Celebrating the film’s 20th anniversary, Allu Arjun shared the poster of the film and wrote that the film ‘Arya’ is “not just a movie … it’s a moment in time that changed the course of my life. Gratitude forever”. 

Arya reminisced the memories, by sharing sweet moments captured while shooting the film. He shared the photos captioned, “Sweet Memories #20yearsofArya”.

Written and directed by Sukumar, ‘Arya’ is a romantic action comedy film starring Allu Arjun. The film also portrays Anu Mehta, and Siva Balaji in pivotal roles. The film marks the actor’s first major hit in his career. Similarly, the film also introduced director Sukumar to the industry. 

Though the sequel 2 was later released in 2009, the film did not perform well at the box office. Over the years, the movie has received a cult status from his fans. 

The film ‘Arya’ was also remade in Tamil as ‘Kutty’, which starred Dhanush and Shriya Saran in lead roles. Later in 2021, the actor and director teamed up for Pushpa The Rise Part 1 in 2021 which became a blockbuster.
