Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu and the Nagarjuna family reacted to the statement made by Telangana Minister Konda Surekha, regarding the involvement of former Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao’s son KT Rama Rao’s involvement in her divorce with her ex-husband Naga Chaitanya.
The recent comment made by K. Surekha sparked outrage after she accused KT Rama Rao of interrupting the lives of several celebrities. The Congress minister linked the member of the Telangana Legislative Assembly to the divorce of Samantha and Naga. After being called out by actress Samantha and the Nagarjuna’s family, the politician took responsibility of her words and retracted her comments.

After severe backlash, the Warangal East MLA apologised to actress Samantha and Naga. In her X post the minister wrote, “If you or your fans are offended by my comments, I unconditionally retract my comments.. Don’t think otherwise.”

Responding to this claim of the minister the actress made an official statement, where she advised the minister to be “responsible and respectful of individuals’ privacy” and leave her “out of political battles.”
The actress also made it clear that the divorce was a result of mutual consent. “My divorce is a personal matter and I request that you refrain from speculating about it…To clarify: my divorce was mutual consent and amicable, with no political conspiracy involved.”
Directing her response towards the minister, the actress said, “Konda Surekha Garu, I am proud of what this journey has turned me into—please don’t trivialize it. I hope you realize that your words carry significant weight as a minister.”
Actor Naga Chaitanya said that the politician’s claim was not only false but “absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable.” He slammed the minister of taking advantage of celebrities personal decisions for the sake of media headlines.

Condemning the comments of the minister, actor Nagarjuna called out for an immediate withdrawal of her comments and accusations; he also called her comments against the family as “completely irrelevant and false.” “Don’t use the lives of movie stars who stay away from politics to criticize your opponents,” he said in an X post.

Nagarjuna’s wife Amala requested Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to restrain the politician and said, “If you believe in human decency, please restrain your politicians and make your minister retract her venomous statements with an apology to my family. Protect the citizens of this country.”
