Dhanush, Rashmika, Nagarjuna-Starrer 'Kuberaa' Hits Theatres Worldwide Today
The much-anticipated Telugu crime drama Kuberaa, starring Dhanush in the lead role, has officially hit theatres worldwide today. Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sekhar Kammula, the film has already generated explosive pre-release buzz, especially in overseas markets like the United States.
Backed by a stellar cast including Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, and Jim Sarbh, Kuberaa is set to deliver a gripping tale of crime, power, and moral conflict. Dhanush takes on the intense role of Deva, a man navigating the dark underbelly of society. With Sekhar Kammula stepping into a darker, action-heavy genre for the first time, expectations are high rise.

Bookings tell the story of a winner in the making, over $115,800 (₹1 crore approx.) collected in pre-sales across 665 shows in the US alone, marking a 220% spike in interest within just 48 hours, as per the reports.
The hype has been fueled by the film’s slick trailers, Devi Sri Prasad’s hard-hitting background score, and hit tracks like Poyiraa Mama and Anaganaga Kadha.
Trade analysts predict Kuberaa could become one of Dhanush’s biggest openers internationally, rivalling the success of Asuran and Jagame Thandhiram.
Despite a box office clash with Aamir Khan’s emotional drama Sitaare Zameen Par, Kuberaa may offer a distinct cinematic experience for fans of gritty action thrillers.
Initially announced in 2021 as D51 (marking Dhanush’s 51st film), the film saw multiple changes before settling on its final title. The project was renamed DNS after Nagarjuna joined the cast (an acronym for Dhanush–Nagarjuna–Sekhar), and after a title dispute earlier this year, the film was officially renamed to Kuberaa in March 2024.
Shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil, the film was made across locations like Hyderabad, Mumbai, Goa, Bangkok, and Tirupati. In a particularly talked-about sequence, Dhanush reportedly shot for 12 hours straight near a dump yard, showcasing his trademark intensity.
The film also boasts a strong technical team, with music by Devi Sri Prasad, cinematography by Niketh Bommireddy, editing by Karthika Srinivas, and production design by Thota Tharani.
