Fighter’s Box Office Collection Day 2: Hrithik-Deepika Starrer Crosses Rs 65 Crore (image-instagram/deepikapadukuon)

Hrithik Roshan’s and Deepika Padukone’s Republic Day release ‘Fighter’ has minted over Rs 65 crore within two days of its release. Helmed by Siddharth Anand, the film was released on the eve of Republic Day, 25th January 2023.

The movie has registered a “massive growth” after underperforming on its opening day. According to trade Analyst Taran Adarsh, the film benefitted from two factors – word-of-mouth appreciation and the Republic Day holiday. He has predicted that the film has a solid chance to set big numbers on its second day of release and the total stands at Rs 65.80 crore. The mass pockets have contributed to raising the number higher on Friday.

Taran Adarsh wrote, “Fighter sets BO on fire, is EXTRAORDINARY on Day 2, benefits largely due to two factors: [i] Excellent feedback from audience and [ii] RepublicDay holiday… Mass pockets – which underperformed on Day 1 – witness massive growth on Day 2, thus contributing to the impressive total.”
“The tremendous growth on Day 2 gives the film a solid chance to march forward… If Sat and Sun maintain the speed, a massive total is certainly on the cards… Frankly, it”s too early to guesstimate a figure for the 4-day extended weekend, since mass belt and spot bookings can elevate the situation on Sat and Sun multifold… So let”s wait and watch, “ he further added.

With a star-studded cast and, a compelling storyline, the experts have already predicted a humongous box office collection. The film plot revolves around the Balakot airstrike conducted by the Indian Armed Forces near the town of Balakot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan.

Hrithik Roshan is portrayed as Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania, also known as Patty. Deepika Padukone takes on the role of Squadron Leader Minal Rathore, called Minni, and Anil Kapoor appears as Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh, known as Rocky.

Fighter is the first collaboration of Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan. Though the movie was announced in January 2021 and was scheduled to release in September 2022, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the pre-production was delayed affecting the schedule. The movie will be released on January 25, 2024, a day before Republic Day.
