The 69th Filmfare Award was announced on Sunday at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Graced with all Bollywood celebrities, the popular gala was a star-studded affair. The much-awaited event unfolded with notable personalities including Ranbir Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vikrant Massey and Jahnvi Kapoor, Karan Johar and Ayushman Khurrana all in style on the red carpet.

Vikrant Massey’s and Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th fail was declared as the best film of the year. The real-life couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt bagged the top acting honors for their phenomenal acting in the films Animal and Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

The Best Director award was grabbed by the 12th Fail director Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The Best Actor (critic) award was bagged by Vikrant Massey and Rani Mukerji for their stupendous performance in the films 12th Fail and Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway. The Best film (critic) was awarded to Devashish Makhija’s Joram.

Lifetime Achievement Award – David Dhawan

Best Playback Singer (Male) – Bhupinder Babbal (Arjan Vailly, Animal)

Best Playback Singer (Female) – Shilpa Rao (Besharam Rang, Pathaan)

Best Music – Pritam, Vishal Mishra, Manan Bhardwaj, Shreyas Puranik, Jaani, Bhupinder Babbal, Ashim Kemson, Harshwardhan Rameshwar, Gurinder Seagal (Animal)

Best Story – Amit Rai (OMG 2) and Devashish Makhija (Joram)

Best Lyrics – Amitabh Bhattacharya (Tere Vaaste, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke)

Best Dialogues – Ishita Moitra (Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani) RD Burman Music

Award for upcoming talent – Shreyas Puranik (Satranga, Animal)

A day prior to the mega event, a curtain raiser event was hosted on January 27th in which the Technical Award was presented. The memorable gala was hosted by Karan Johar, Ayushman Khurrana, and Maniesh Paul.

The Filmfare Award is granted to celebrities across diverse categories for their exceptional performances in popular films released in 2023.
